Le Cinque Terre
We made it to the Italian Riviera txo days ago. Ok this keyboard is so turned around its going to make typing this post very tedious; so I will be quick...
We stayed in a small coastal town called Monterosso which is at the end of a national park called the Cinque Terre. Its really beautiful. The Cinque Terre runs through about 5 little villages that rest up in the cliffs and you can hike through the, all in about 5 hours. We did the entire thing yesterday. IT was tough at parts; but so worth it. About half way through , we decided to try and find this secret beach a friend of ours told us about. We went through this creepy, dark, old abandonded train tunnel for about 15 minutes and came out the other side to this really small beach....full of naked people. It wasnt like we didnt know they had nude beaches in Europe, but it was just funny to walk all that way and see all these boobs and butts. We just laughed and hung out for a while and then headed back up the trail.....but I have seen enough naked bodies to last me a while...
That night we went to this great seafood restaurant and got big bowls of risotto and pesto spaghetti. Everything was delicious. Then these old men sitting behind us sent over a bottle of champagne for us. They came over and had a toast with us too...it was pretty cool. They owned a restaurant in Torino and were visiting for the week. Nice guys.We just sat at that restaurant for a while, talking and laughing because we have the hardest time getting our check. We will wait forever and they never bring it: Its funny. Its like there is something we just dont know about restaurant etiquette or something.
After dinner we went to this bar with some other American travellers and hung out; talking to different people. Because I know mother is freaking out, I want to add that we did not drink, just had some laughs with some really fun people. I actually met this 27 year old screen writer from LA and spent most of the time talking to him. He is going to law school in the fall and was travelling through Italy with his Mom. He actually asked me out for coffee the next morning so that was cool. We met outside our hotel at this little cafe and drank really good lattes. So yeah. I scored a date in Italy. Not bad. Too bad I cant get one in at home. Ironic...
That was this morning at now we are in Nice: France is cool I guess. We arent here very long but I am excited to look around. We go to Paris at the end of our trip so we will get to come back then.
I saw that the Mavs are in the Finals. Lame. I feel bad for Nash. He deserves it more....
Well, better get going. This keyboard is way too frustrating. Hope all is well with everyone!
