Mexico...
Well, Mexico has come and gone and I am finally starting to feel that crappy, "winter sucks, get me back to Mexico" feeling that I know would eventually take over. Seriously though, Mexico was a blast. Puerto Escondido was amazing, beautiful and pretty much perfect for us. The weater was a reliable 82 degrees everyday and the beach was just a 5-minute walk away. We all read quite bit, some of us, on the other hand, toured P.E. looking for prospective real estate, tracking down contractors and architects and what not. We all drank a lot of really good coke, ate a lot of fish and tortillas and got to know a few choice locals in during our stay. My favorite was our crazy landlady, Nancy, who walked around with big strapless moo-moos on, smoking cigarettes and saying things like,"Oh child, I don't know, this is Mexico..." Then were was Renee, the best, well, the only server at La Salsa, this quaint little restaurant near our house. Renee was good at his job. Always brought out Coke when your bottle was empty and made sure we all had enough torillas. My sister Shannon and my brother-in-law Ryan went skydiving which was pretty cool. they loved it and I kinda wish I would have done it, but seriously, I would be afraid of how I would react once I was up there. I would probably start crying, or pass out or have a heart attack or something....or even throw up on the way down...which would be gross and embarassing to say the least. But P.E is beautiful, and I had a lot of fun...
Here's the sunset on Playa de Zicatela....great beach, awesome sunset.

There really is too much to talk about when it comes to Mexico. It was awesome and I hope to go back again.
I read a few books that I had been meaning to read for quite some time. I read The Secret History, Plainsong and Memoirs of a Geisha. The Secret History was great, really well written and a cool story. Read it. So much Memoirs of a Geisha, really good story and very engaging. Plainsong, hmm....not so much. It's one of those books that is set in some rural midwestern town and with the classic "Gas n' Go" and neighborhood crazy lady....maybe it's not all that classic, but it's the type of book where you swear you have read something very similar to it. The book had no plot and was pretty much pointless because nothing was resolved, which isn't necessary, but it just ended, just like that. I didn't like it too much. But read the other two if you haven't, they are good.
Now I am back in Logan after a long trip home and it's back to school and work. I worked last night for the first time in a long time and it sucked. I was there until 1 a.m. and then when I walked outside, I slipped on some ice and fell to the ground. I have only fallen on the ice in Utah twice. Once was last year, I was walking down some stairs behind my house and fell very hard , classic- feet straight up from underneath me and BAM! Landed on my hip and elbow....Last night I fell sort of sideways and fell on my knee. Falling like that is so weird. When it happens, its all in slow motion and you totally know that you are going to hit the ground and its going to hurt. Luckily, no one saw me, but two of our chefs were around the corner smoking so I just yelled it, "I fell" They were really nice and came to help me.
My knee still hurts today...Damn ice.
